About The Artist
My name is Rini and I am from Delhi. However, my story starts from being born in a sacred city of Varanasi, also known as the land of temples. Since childhood I have seen the city grow because of being traditionally and culturally rich and that’s where I got my inspiration from. Being a journalist by profession, art brings a relief, progress and colors to my life. As attracted to traditional aspects of my country, I started my art journey with folk art of Mithila. My compositions involve Mithila style designing with themes dedicated to traditional gods and goddesses, traditional rituals or towards the generic daily lives. Since it's a folk style from the state of Bihar, my art involves lots of indulgence of vibrant colors balanced with folk art motifs which have deep meaning and old age stories behind it. All the art I work on keep me connected to the deep roots of culture and place where it comes from. Art for me is not just the composition of colors and themes but it gives me joy, rhythm and hope to enjoy my journey of life.
